The Center, formerly known as LQSI, embodies a unique concept, whereby needs are identified by care staff at the Center For Disability Services, the incubator creates solutions, develops prototypes and small-scale production, protects intellectual property, and builds relationships with companies for mass production. For example, an oral hygiene product specifically designed for people with disabilities was created at the Center. This innovative, targeted approach to research, development and manufacturing may well be an example to follow as our region and nation grapples with the supply chain crisis across many industries.
